Alex Purvis is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group. His diverse practice includes litigation over trade secrets. For example, Alex handles litigation involving key core trade secrets subject to attack by aggressive opposing counsel and parties in multiple jurisdictions. Alex understands how to approach the variations in applicable law and how to work closely with the client to identify and use the important facts that drive these disputes.

Alex is a Fellow of the American College of Coverage Counsel (ACCC) and spends a significant amount of his time in the insurance coverage arena as a member of the firm's Policyholder Insurance Coverage team. Alex has worked on complex first- and third-party coverage disputes since law school, and he has been recognized in this area by Super Lawyers magazine since 2010. His experience allows him to assist clients with the new and complex insurance issues. Alex frequently assists commercial policyholders in evaluating and pursuing their claims, using established rules and tools. He takes pride in working closely with the client to identify goals early in the process and execute an action plan that gets results in an efficient manner. Because of his in-depth experience with the insurance industry, Alex understands all perspectives in the dispute and is well-equipped to identify creative solutions beyond litigation. At the same time, Alex is a trial litigator with experience in all stages of litigation and can pursue coverage rights in court when necessary.

Alex’s litigation experience spans numerous jurisdictions. He is currently handling litigation matters, including matters with trade secret disputes, in Mississippi, Kentucky, Minnesota, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, and Ohio.
